About Me and Resume

From Marysville, Michigan, I went to Wayne State University to both play football and study broadcast journalism. Once I finished up my football career, I immediately started working for the Port Huron Prowlers for the 2019-20 season, launching their road broadcast platform. Unfortunately, that season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the fall of 2020, I co-founded Get Stuck On Sports to cover high school sports in the St Clair County area of Michigan, calling football, basketball, hockey, baseball, and softball. In under three years, the company eclipsed over one million total listens.

In the fall of 2021 I started working at Wayne State University initially in a fill-in role for football broadcasts, gradually expanding to encompass various sports. Fast forward to 2022, and I assumed a full-time role in football broadcasts. Currently, I host the weekly coaches show, "Weekly with Wheatley." In 2023, I began a more permanent role, contributing to women’s basketball games and stepping into fill-in roles for baseball, softball, volleyball, and men’s basketball.

In the winters of 2022, and 2023, I was hired by the NJCAA to call the women’s basketball national championship tournament, calling 26 games in five days in both years.

I was fortunate to get back into professional hockey with the Motor City Rockers with their inaugural season in the fall 2022.

In 2023, I joined the United Shores Professional Baseball League out of Utica Michigan.

I currently live in Port Huron, Michigan with my fiancé Abby, along with my dog Juliet, and two cats Small-Fry, and Wybie. However, we would be open to relocation for the right oppertunity!

Outside of work, Abby and I love watching our shows together with a big tub of popcorn.
Psych, The Office, Parks and Rec, Yellowstone and Kitchen Nightmares are some of our favorites. Despite my resistance, I have watched all the Twilight movies with her.

If I have some alone time, I enjoy diving head first into “Out of the Park Baseball”, NBA2k, NHL, and (hopefully) the new NCAA Football game. When I am able to get friends together, I love playing cards, sitting around a bon fire, and going to sporting events as a fan.
